Hope in the Northern Triangle
Posted on April 22, 2020
Have you heard of the “Northern Triangle?” This region of Central America is comprised of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. Unfortunately, this Triangle is known for its intense poverty, crime, and corruption. It’s a hard place to live, and it is now getting much harder.
But thanks to your support, Global Action is at work in the heart of this troubled region. Fernando and his son Luis graduated last year from our Foundations program in Guatemala. In normal times, they lead a kids’ club and build homes for poor families in their rural indigenous community, though they themselves are very poor.
But the pandemic is making life even more desperate for the families in their community, so Fernando and Luis have been hard at work putting together food baskets as a lifeline for those in need. They are using all they have to give hope in a seemingly hopeless situation.
The amazing thing is that leaders like Fernando and Luis aren’t stopped by border closures – they are already there! God has sovereignly placed them where they are to serve those around them in this time of crisis.
If you are looking for a way to help our hurting world, please consider giving to train a leader today. A generous supporter is matching up to $25,000 in gifts made toward our “Give Hope” initiative this month. Don’t miss this opportunity to double your impact today!
For the world,
Lionel Young
